Trey's Blu Ray Collection: Crazy, Stupid, Love

This is my go to chick flick when I need something a little romantic. The reason for this is because it's funny and boast a cast that has a lot of charisma making for a very enjoyable movie. The film revolves around Cal Weaver (Steve Carrel) and his wife Emily (Julianne Moore) whose going through a rough patch in their relationship. Rough enough that Emily asks that they be separated for a while until she figures out what they want. In another story that plays out Hannah (Emma Stone) is a new lawyer who has is stuck in a relationship that is going nowhere fast. The only thing half exciting in her life is the run in at the bar with the suave ladies man Jacob (Ryan Gosling). Then there is 13 year old Robbie (Jonah Bobo) who is in love with the baby sitter. The whole film is the progression of love, and finding happiness in the most unlikely of circumstances or places. In one story it may be about finding the spark that there once was, in the other moving on to something better. It really is a great story, that makes for a fun movie. I particularly like the scenes and dialogue between Gosling and Carrel, I didn't know Ryan Gosling had any comedy chops but he does good enough to keep up with the always funny Steve Carrel. There isn't much more to say about the film, without giving away key moments. If your looking for a good date movie this one is worth your time, and parties will enjoy it.
