Movie Of The Week: May 12th - 18th

With the release of Star Trek Into Darkness the obvious choice for movie of the week is the 2009 predecessor Star Trek. This J.J Abrams film revamp a franchise long loved by a select crew. Giving it ample twist to make the franchise loved by anyone. I am no fan of original Star Trek but this movie works for me on so many levels. The character interaction is flawless and its a blockbuster with raw emotion that you rarely find in films of its nature. Each summer you get 3-5 big blockbusters that are released. Rarely do you find more than one that has some serious emotional weight. Most of the time I would say that none have that emotional connection. This film has that and so much more. The actors are young faces that are making a name for themselves, and they do a hell of a job at being lovable. I would dare say that Zachary Quinto version of Spock is one of the coolest character to his the screen in a long time. If you have seen this film and disagree go see the new installment and tell me I am wrong. There is so much worth praising and so little worth picking apart is really is a fantastic science fiction film. For those not to good with faces you will get a good 10 minutes scene with Thor himself Chris Hemsworth before he was relevant. There is nothing else I need to say, the film is awesome and if you haven't seen it do yourself a favor and check it out. Then go shell out some cash to see Star Trek Into Darkness!
